Some things to think about....

1.Not every one who has a litter of puppies is considered a professional breeder.  A professional breeder is a person who has fallen in love with a particular breed and desires to perfect the standards of that breed by carefully selecting a lineage that enhances the health and temperment of that breed. And you do not have to "Show" your dog to be a professional breeder.

2. There are excellent breeders in every State, just as there are bad breeders, back yard breeders and "puppy Mills". Each breeder must adhere to the laws of their State and if they are selling pups to Pet Stores, by USDA (United States Department of Agriculture).

3. MICROCHIPPING YOUR PET IS VERY IMPORTANT -- IT GIVES YOU PROOF OF OWNERSHIP SHOULD YOUR PET BE LOST OR STOLEN -- AND EASE IN FINDING YOU, THE PET OWNER. EVERYONE SCANS YOUR PETS THESE DAYS -- VETS, SPCA, ANIMAL CONTROL. IT IS A GOOD THING TO HAVE A MICROCHIPPED PUPPY. THE ONLY PLACES THAT DO NOT DO IT, DO NOT WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY TO DO IT, SO THEY MAKE THE EXCUSE THAT THESE PUPPIES COME FROM PUPPY MILLS, AS WELL AS OFFER OTHER RIDICULOUS REASONS FOR NOT MICROCHIPPING THEIR PUPS -- LACK OF KNOWLEDGE SHOWS IGNORANCE -- DO YOUR HOMEWORK.

4. CHECK YOUR LOCAL ANIMAL CONTROL FACILITY FOR ANY SUSPENSIONS OF LICENSES FROM THE BREEDER OR PET STORE YOU WANT TO PURCHASE FROM. IF THEY HAVE HAD SUSPENSIONS IN THE PAST -- PROBABLY NOT A GREAT PLACE TO BUY YOUR LIFE-TIME COMPANION!

5.  Brokers are hired by pet stores that sell high volumes of pets.  It is convenient for the store owner to call a "Broker" and order pups from a weekly listing of puppies that are from all over.  They never really know what the parents look like, what kind of breeder they are or even something as simple as "How old are the parents".  Hunte Corporation, Lambriar, Tracys Pets are all popular brokers used by many pet stores..but not by Precious Pet Cottage.  We truly deal directly with our breeders and we select our puppies ourselves.  We provide our customers with complete information about each breeder when you purchase our puppies.
