THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT!

INSTRUCTOR: JENNA BOBETICH

Training at Precious Pet Cottage for 4 years now, certified in "Canine Good Citizen" through AKC , a certification for "Protection dog Training" and currently enrolled in the Animal Behavior College .  All Training methonds are done by voice commands or treats which ever you prefer. Classes are taught to help with basic manners and puppy socialization.  Your puppy must be at least 12 weeks of age to start! Each day you will be given a new lesson with a home work assignment. You must practice with your dog at least 30 minutes a day. Attendance and homework will play a great roll in your dog's progress.

Available Classes and Services:

NEW PUPPY PARTIES!!!!!

This class is for puppies that are 16 weeks and younger, and with at least 2 vaccines. This class is to help your puppy with socialization, puppies that are isolated for the first 16 weeks of their life is detrimental to their behavioral health that could lead to fearfullness, frustration and aggression. An un-socialized dog is untrustworthy and an unwanted liability. They often become fear-biters. Often they like to fight with other dogs. They are difficult to train and are generally unpleasant to be around. Unsocialized dogs cannot adapt to new situations and a simple routine visit to the vet or groomer is a nightmare not only for the dog itself, but for everyone involved. Don't let this happen to you and your dog. Start socializing your new puppy NOW!

You will learn some tips on:

*House breaking

*Grooming your new puppy (What you can do at home before the groomer)

*How children should handle their new puppy.

*If your puppy is timid or overly afraid of certain things

*Define what normal vs abnormal canine behavior is and what to expect as the puppy matures.

*Most importantly your puppy will be getting socialized!

Basic I Beginner ($99) 6 Week Class                
 

• Sit
• 1 Minute Sit Stay
• Down
• 3 Minute Down stay
• Heel with Automatic sit
• Come

Basic II - Intermediate ($99) 6 Week Class
Must complete Basic I successfully or pass a training evaluation.

• Drop lead heel
• Sit at 6 ft. distance
• 3 minute sit stay
• 5 min down stay
• Finish after recall
• Stand / stay

Basic III - Advanced ($99) 6 Week Class
Must complete Basic I & II successfully or pass a training evaluation.

• Command by hand signals
• Off lead heel
• Stay on heel
• Sit, Down, Stand by hand
• Drop on recall

CGC (Canine Good Citizen) ($99) - 4 Week Class
This is a short class sponsored by AKC, but not limited to purebred dogs. The class prepares your pet for a CGC test. Upon passing the test, your pet will receive a certificate of CGC, which represents your dog is "Safe in Public". Recommended for dogs with natural dominance and/or aggression.

Puppy Consultation - 1/2 hour ($30)
Provides all those helpful hints on getting started with your new pet and how to get through housebreaking, chewing, jumping, etc.

Obedience Evaluation - 1/2 hour ($30)
An evaluation to determine what class level your pet is ready for. Required for all dogs entering any class except Basic I who received previous training outside Precious Pet Cottage.
